Another Texas Longhorn Arrested – Drugs Anyone Another Texas Longhorn Arrested – Drugs Anyone

Austin, Texas – Another arrest for the University of Texas football team. This time it is a drug charge that has landed Texas backup safety Tyrell Gatewood in jail.

Gatewood joins fellow Longhorn Sergio Kindle and Henry Melton as arrestees on the team. Kindle and Melton were both charged with Driving While Intoxicated and are currently serving a 3 game suspension for the alcohol related arrests.

Gatewood was released from the drug charge on a personal recognizance bond, but was detained for a reckless driving charge in Dallas from March 2007. Investigators say that Gatewood and fellow teammate, Ben Wells, were pulled over for failing to signal a turn. When the deputy approached the car, he smelled a strong odor of marijuana. Upon searching the vehicle, marijuana was found along with a bottle of cough syrup containing codeine.

Drunk Driving, Drugs, Driving While Intoxicated, DUI – What’s next for the Longhorn football team? Is the Miami of the 1980’s and early 1990’s?
