Woman Sentenced in Fatal Montgomery County DWI Crash
According to court records, Amanda Doyle - a 25 year old Montgomery County woman - was driving while intoxicated (DWI) when her vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by Daniel Hottman in February 2008. Doyle's blood was analyzed shortly after the accident and it was determined that her blood alcohol concentration was over twice the legal limit. She had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.17. Additionally, Doyle admitted to taking several intoxicating prescription medications before the crash.
As a result of the accident, Daniel Hottman was killed and his wife and 3 children that were alson in the car were seriously injured. Doyle was charged with one count of intoxication manslaughter and three counts of intoxication assualt.
Doyle pled guilty to all four of the charges and left sentencing to Judge Fred Edwards. Judge Edwards sentenced Doyle to the maximum of 20 years on the intoxication manslaughter charge and the maximum of 10 years of each of the intoxication assault charges. The sentences will run concurrently.
