Favoritism in Montgomery County DWI? Favoritism in Montgomery County DWI?

According to the Houston Chronicle, a Mountgomery County Judge was detained and released from jail for suspicion of driving while intoxicated - DWI.

Conroe, Texas - According to reports, a County Judge in Montgomery County was involved in an accident, suspected of driving while intoxicated, arrested, transported to the jail and then released without DWI charges being filed.  According to the Houston Chronicle, County Judge Alan Sadler was involved in a two car accident in the 2100 block of North Loop 336 West in Montgomery County, Texas.

Conroe police officials confirmed Sadler was involved in the accident, but would not release any other information about the incident - pending further investigation into the matter.  According to a representative of the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, police obtained a search warrant and took a sample of blood from Sadler.  The blood test results are still pending.

Was Sadler treated just like everyone else that is detained in Montgomery County for driving while intoxicated under similar circumstances?  Not according to how my clients and other lawyers' clients are treated.  In the cases that I know, the person is charged, arrested and must post a bond - not released "pending further investigation."  Favoritism?  You decide.
