Houston, Texas - After saying his vows and attending his wedding reception, a Houston man was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated - DWI on his wedding night.

As part of a "No Refusal Weekend," Harris County Precinct 8 Constables arrested a Houston man on his wedding night.  As part of an increased crackdown on drunk driving / driving while intoxcated / DWI, Houston law enforcement agencies stepped-up patrol to fight drunk driving offenses.  The new groom was arrested shortly after leaving his wedding reception in the Clear Lake area.

What is a "No Refusal Weekend?"  In conjuction with the Harris County District Attorney's office and local judges, law enforcement agencies force someone arrested for DWI in Harris County to submit to the taking of blood if they refuse to voluntarily take a breat test.  There have been successful challenges to the mandatory taking of blood by law enforcement officers in a Houston DWI.
