Drunk or Drugged? – Tampa Bay’s WR David Boston Charged with Drunk Driving
According to police reports, David Boston was arrested for driving while intoxicated after being found slumped over the steering wheel of an SUV on August 23, 2007. Boston gave a breath test when arrested that showed he had no alcohol in his system. Police then obtained a urine sample and have since analyzed the sample. The results of the urine sample show a positive reading for GHB.
GHB is most commonly referred to as the “date rape drug” because it is a central nervous system depressant that often has the effect of making people extremely drowsy and semi-conscious. Those that take it often have severe memory loss.
At this time, it is not known whether Boston took the drug voluntarily or if it was “slipped” to him.
Police, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the NFL are still investigating and reviewing this Driving Under the Influence case.
