Texas Longhorn football player charged with DWI Texas Longhorn football player charged with DWI

The University of Texas learned that former running back and current defensive end, Henry Melton, has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

According to Austin, Texas police, Melton was pulled over and charged with DWI on June 1, 2007 after his vehicle was seen traveling unsafely. The incident took place near famous Sixth Street in downtown Austin. Melton was arrested and taken to the Travis County jail. Jail records indicate that Melton was released around 8:00 a.m.

The University is currently performing its own investigation into the DWI charge.
